OPEN RECRUITMENT NIGHT - To be Announced! - ?pm-?pm
Tarentorus Sports Club
56 Avery Road RR #6, Sault Ste. Marie, ON - View Map

    LEAGUE INFO

So, you want to be a Sault Roller Girl, but you aren't sure you have what it takes - Come on out! This is our first season so roller derby is new to most of us. Some of us haven't even skated before, and other just not for years. We will all be training together to get the skills we need to be placed on one of our teams.

It takes quite a commitment to be a Sault Roller Girl. We are a "by the skater, for the skater" - DIY - non-profit league. This means we do everything ourselves - from fundraising, advertising, to the production of events.

A Sault Roller Girl must devote her time to practices, meetings, and events. Each girl is reponsible for purchasing her own equipment, purchasing a $50 insurance membership to Roller Sports Canada (we provide the forms), and paying monthly dues (currently $20).

More information can be found here.

    WHAT YOU NEED TO SKATE

Identification - a photocopy/scan of 2 government issued IDs & sign a waiver (we provide)

Pads - elbow pads, knee pads, wrist guards, and a helmet. You will also need a mouth guard that can be purchased at any sporting goods store at a minimal price. We have enough extra protective gear to suit up 3 girls, but this will be available on a first come, first served basis.

Skates - Quad skates only! No roller blades are allowed! We currently have 3 pairs of extras skates, but they are available on a first come, first served basis. Your best bet would be to purchase your own pair - even a cheap second hand pair would be fine for now.
